Salad Days 02-05-09

It was a very emotional week for me, with the 50th anniversary of Buddy Holly's untimely death and the next day word of the death of Lux Interior. The Buddy Holly anniversary reminded me how old I am and the word of Lux passing reminded me also how vulnerable. After I read the news at work about Lux, I reminisced about him and the Cramps and the times we played together. With each memory, I realized I had a smile on my face. Lux brought smiles to many thousands of people over the years and that's how he should be remembered. My condolences to Ivy. Most of my best rock 'n' roll stories involve playing with the Cramps. Salad Days 01-15-09

OK, I have been doing the WRIR punk show for 2 years now. Here is my first podcast. Complete with technical difficulties, mispronunciations and overall lame djing. The music is always good, though, so give her a listen and download, if you like it. We just got a brand new stream at WRIR. It is now 96kbs-stereo instead of the previous 32kbs-mono. On this podcast, there maybe a few small hiccups due to the stream originally being too fat. This problem has been fixed, so next weeks show should sound awesome. It is awesome to be able to dj at WRIR, because I can play whatever I like. Great station!!!
